The conference secretariat has secured blocks of accommodation with each hotel/apartment block below and requests that all bookings and enquiries regarding accommodation be made directly with the Conference Secretariat and not with the hotels/apartments. The deadline for guaranteed hotel reservations through the Conference Secretariat is 7 December 2008. Bookings after this date will be subject to room availability.

A deposit of one night’s accommodation is required to secure the reservation. This deposit will be forwarded to the hotel and will be deducted from the final account. A tax invoice will be issued by the hotel. Guests are responsible for paying the balance to the hotel on departure.

Failure to arrive on the date specified will incur forfeiture of deposit. Final dates must be advised at least 30 days out from your arrival date - otherwise cancellation fees may apply to all nights that are cancelled. This policy varies from hotel to hotel.

Single or double rooms have a king bed. Twin rooms have two double beds. Up to 2 children (under 13 years) can share twin room free of charge if utilizing existing bedding. Rollaway beds cannot be added to rooms, but one extra adult can share a twin room (so 3 adults in total) for an extra $65 per night.

Two Bedroom Apartments contain 1 x queen bed and 2 x single beds in each bedroom. There is a separate living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, washer and dryer and private balcony. The $225 rate is for up to 4 persons. Maximum of 4 persons. Two Bedroom Apartments with Ensuite – have all of the above plus an extra bathroom as an ensuite to the main bedroom. A sofa bed for an extra person is available in the Two Bedroom Apartments with Ensuite, for an extra $45 per night, but is not available in the standard two bedroom apartments. The $250 rate is for 4 persons. Maximum of 5 persons. One Bedroom Apartments contain 1 x queen bed in the bedroom, a separate living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, washer and dryer and private balcony. The $195 rate is for up to 2 persons. A sofa bed for an extra person is available for an extra $45 per night. Maximum of 3 persons.

Two Bedroom Apartments contain 1 x queen bed and 2 x single beds in each bedroom. There is a separate living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms (ensuite bathroom has a spa) and washer and dryer. The $195 rate is for up to 4 persons. *A sofa bed for an extra person is available in some apartments for an extra $40 per night. One Bedroom Apartments contain 1 x queen bed in the bedroom, a separate living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with spa and washer and dryer. The $165 rate is for up to 2 persons. *A sofa bed for an extra person is available in some apartments for an extra $40 per night.

Twin rooms contain 2 x king single beds. Single and Double rooms contain a queen bed.

Three types of rooms have been held which can be utilized as single, twin, double or triple accommodation as follows: Deluxe Rooms – each room has a queen and single bed. Deluxe Poolside – each room has a queen and single bed, and is with a balcony. King Spa Rooms – each room has a king bed and spa – a rollaway bed can be utilized for an extra person, however, space in the room would be very limited.
Canberra Rex Hotel 150 Northbourne Avneue Canberra ACT 2601 15-20 Minute walk from Convention Centre		$149 (Triple: King + Single) $129 (Single/Twin/Double)
The Canberra Rex Hotel has been recently refurbished and offers good value. Single and double rooms have a king bed. Twin rooms have 2 x king single beds. Two persons maximum in single and twin rooms. The triple rooms have a king bed and a single bed. Three persons maximum in a triple room.

Breakfast

Breakfast is not included in any of the tariffs above.

Budget Accommodation

Room Sharing with Colleagues that you have Organised Yourself

Organising your own room sharing is a good way to keep accommodation costs down. In most of the venues, triple sharing is offered for a minimal extra cost.

Please note that the secretariat will not organise sharepersons on your behalf.
