Crisanto Gutierrez
Crisanto Gutierrez is currently Research Professor of the CSIC (Spanish Research Council) at the Centro de Biologia Molecular "Severo Ochoa" (Madrid) and EMBO Member. He received a BSc by the University of Seville (1977) and a PhD by the University Autonoma of Madrid (1980). Then, he worked as Assistant Professor of Cell Biology (1982-1986) before moving first to Harvard University and, then, to the Roche Institute of Molecular Biology where he studied SV40 DNA replication with Mel DePamphilis. In 1990, he returned to Madrid. His current interests are in the control of cell cycle and DNA replication and its coupling with cell differentiation and development in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana.
