Scientific Program

All scientific sessions will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, a purpose-built convention centre under one roof, with a maximum of 1-2 minutes walk between sessions and the exhibition/poster area. The scientific program will consist of 12 plenary sessions and 5 symposium sessions comprising 6 concurrent sessions.

Each topic in the concurrent sessions will be introduced by two invited keynote speakers and up to 6 oral presentations selected from abstract submissions.

Information for Speakers

PC Projection

PC projection (Microsoft PowerPoint XP) will be available in all lecture rooms. Presentations will be accepted on CD, DVD or a USB Mass Storage Device. Macintosh users are able to use their notebooks at the lectern providing they have a monitor / VGA output.

If you have video clips inserted into your presentation, please ensure that you supply the video file as well as the PowerPoint file.

OHP or 35mm slide presentations are no longer available.

ALL presenters must present to Speaker Preparation (both PC and Macintosh users) the day before your presentation or one full session beforehand if you are presenting on the first day. The times speaker preparation is open will appear at the front of your program hand book. We also suggest that you bring a backup of your presentation.

All presentations are to be loaded onto the server by the technician and checked by you for faithful reproduction.

Posters

Poster Presentations

  • Freestanding display boards will be available.
  • Posters should fit into an area of 1.0 metre wide x 1.0 metres high including the heading.
  • Velcro will be provided to affix posters - pins are not to be used.

Poster Viewing Sessions

All posters will be displayed for a full four days from Monday through to Thursday inclusive. All poster presenters can mount their posters from 4.00pm on Sunday, 20 August, but are requested to have them up no later than 10.15am on Monday morning. Posters should be removed at afternoon tea time on Thursday, 24 August - but no later than 4.30pm on Thursday. Posters not removed by 5.00pm on Thursday, 24 August may be disposed of.

Authors of posters relating to topics presented in the plenary and oral presentations on Monday and Tuesday, will be asked to be present for discussion on the Tuesday, and posters relating to topics presented on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, will be asked to be present for discussion on the Thursday. All poster presenters will be contacted individually advising day and time that they need to stand by their poster.
